If you are intending to travel from Kathmandu, it would take you around 3 to 4 hours as it is just about 70 kms in Sindhupalchowk district. Whereas Sukute beach is more about relaxing and adventure tours to explore with most popular white water rafting, canoeing, Kayaking in a beautiful camping experience in a resort. Not only that, being on the riverside area, you can also experience that beachside vibe surrounded by lush hills.

If you are travelling from Kathmandu, you need to take the path from Arniko Highway passing through Dhulikhel. Once you reach the small town named Dolalghat, you would already feel that beach vibe which is only half an hour from this location. Many travellers stop here for a short break to experience the beautiful view of hills and mountain tops. The fresh river fish are quite popular among the travellers as a quick snack.

As the distance from Kathmandu to Sukute beach is approximately 68 kilometres, you would be able to reach there in around 3 hours. However, you can add half an hour extra depending upon traffic conditions.

If you are seeking a water adventure sport, your choice of months might be around spring and autumn. The spring normally lasts from March till May whereas autumn season in Nepal usually starts from September till November.

December till February would not be ideal for a water sport because of the cold water and very chilly weather condition. Also during this winter season, the river is very calm for adventure water sports like white water rafting. So, if you are planning to make a trip to Sukute Beach for what it offers, then spring and autumn would be the best season around all year. However, expect crowds during this season because of the peak activities. But if you are a person who prefers a smaller crowd then you can plan your trip during the winter season. This season can still provide you a very serene riverside experience, campfire and really vibrant peaceful interaction with the environment. However, this weather is not so preferable for watersports.

Sukute beach is not favourable during the monsoon season as water level can be quite high because of the expected heavy rainfall during this season. The water level can drastically rise which might increase the risk for water rafting. On the bright side, you can still see a very dark green and vibrant botanical view.

As this trip is all about water adventure, we suggest you pack swimwear, quick drying clothes, sun protection accessories and comfortable shoes. We also suggest you take a reusable water bottle even though you have booked a package as staying hydrated is the key here. These items should be sufficient for the day trips.

For overnight stays, it is always advisable to carry additional but very essential items like First-aid kit, power bank, snacks that might be helpful. All these types of items would be available in the resorts but it would be very beneficial for hassle free experience. Also some of your personal items along with an extra pair of clothes is quite essential, if you are intending for a multi-days stay. For those interested in camping, we suggest you book a hotel or package which has tented camps for accommodation. Also we suggest you to book your accommodation with camping related packages like bonfire, barbeques, fire dance and so on. These features in your hotel stays will create a memorable trip to remember.

For public transportation it would cost you around NRS. 250 - NRS. 350 for one way journey. If you prefer a private vehicle and hire a jeep for 1N/2D (One night and Two days), it might cost you around NRS. 15000 - NRS. 17000 depending upon the type of 4WD. However, for a day trip return, NRS. 11000 might be quite sufficient.

With an additional safety, following the water guide and with the use of proper safety gears, you would experience the adventure of a lifetime with recreational fun in Sukute Beach. Although there are various activities to experience on this destination, 1N2D would be sufficient enough to explore this adventure trip. Spring and Autumn are the ideal season to visit Sukute beach. If you would like to experience a water adventure, we cannot recommend any other destination but only Sukute beach. With just a 3 hour drive from Kathmandu, you would experience quite a different vibe compared to the capital city has to offer.
